Hi Everyone I have a 15 month cockapoo who we all love to bits the issue is stealing. Which I know is completely normal behaviour I'm just wondering if it ever stops 馃槶 I have 2 young kids who aren't allowed toys downstairs anymore and dog isn't allowed upstairs. As soon as he hears ANYTHING drop on the floor he bolts straight for it. He can be sitting chewing on a high value cow hoof and still go for it. The constant management is getting me down. Of course I would never leave the dog and kids alone together anyway it's just everyday we are constantly saying watch out or the dog will get that. I know every dog is different and some dogs don't bother with things our family members have a dog that can be amongst so many toys food shoes etc lying about and doesn't give a hoot! Just walks about minding his own business. Where as mine could never. He would need to be on the leash. Any advice or reassurance I know he's still young will I ever have a relaxed house again 馃ぃ

have you trained them with toys in particular? Puppies at that age can鈥檛 translate leave it with a treat to leave it with something else. Mine was great with leave it, but ate all my plants鈥o practiced that and with time it got better and now he is not fussed. They can be incredibly stubborn, can鈥檛 they?馃槄 I literally burst into tears in front of my palm tree once because whatever I did, Monty just went back to it. Keep training and thank the universe that it gets easier wuth time

Oh definitely been many a meltdown here! 馃槄 Whatever he steals I usually practice dropping it more times and telling him to leave it, as soon as he knows I have treats on me he's only interested in them and will sit patiently waiting 馃槀 I guess it forces me to keep everywhere tidy so he can't get in at stuff 馃檮 maybe he's doing me a favour 馃槀
