Jake was already sleeping in bed with us. He had spent the first six months in a crate in our room. Willow started in a crate in our room. That lasted as long as it took her to realize Jake was sleeping in the bed. That was about a month.
As you know, Willow is very spoiled so I guess I'm not the right one to weigh in.

Donna . . you made me laugh!!! They are so smart arent they?? Sami was also already sleeping with us when we got Carley so she went into a separate room where Sami had slept with a white noise machine. She did just fine for 9.5 months, then we let her try being out . . she still roams around a bit . . on the floor in the kitchen . . in her soft bed in our bedroom . . at times on our bed . . Sami sticks strictly by my side in bed or if hot he goes to the foot of the bed on his sheet I put over our bedspread.

Willow had taken to sleeping either on top of me or pinned to my side often under the blanket. It is awesome when I get a hot flash. She gets a bath.
